Share Time

Don't even ask how I came across this. But it totally cracked me up so I had to share.

There's a storm rolling in

Photobucket

I love thunder storms. I love the way the clouds roll in and get all dark and gloomy. I love nature. It's so unpredictable. When Flyboy and I lived on the mountain, we would sit outside and watch the storms roll in. Even through all the lightening and thunder boomers. My dad taught us kids a song about thunder and lightening when we were little. Maybe that contributed to my love of storms.

Lightening, she's an alleycat
Who lives up in the clouds
Thunder, he's a black boy
And he can holler loud
When he kisses lightening
He stoops and then he blunders
He trips and tears his trousers
And that's what makes it thunder

Why am I doing this??
Photobucket
Is that Moldy Cheese I'm tasting?
Photobucket
I think I just bit into some skunk spray
Photobucket
Oh, my! Is that Vomit?
Photobucket
Even Flyboy doesn't like the taste of Rotten Egg
Photobucket
Do I dare?

Uptown Girls

My two baby girls recently performed in a dance recital at the Boys and Girls Club. This is their first year in dance class and I have to tell ya......I'm SO not impressed. Yes, they have learned a cute little dance, and yes, they seem to enjoy it.....sometimes. But the dance studio they go to has not impressed me at all! Their instructor is very unfriendly and seems inconvienienced if we try to talk to her about their dancing. It's very uncomfortable and sort of frustrating. A couple of weeks ago, she handed out their costumes for their recitals and informed me that they had group photos scheduled. It was Wednesday and the photos were on Saturday. Huh, a whole 3 days notice. Now, I don't know about you, but I work for a living and can't just show up at the drop of a pins notice. And I was scheduled to work. Fortunately, Flyboy had Saturday off and was able to take the little darlings. This meant that he was in charge of getting them in their costumes and making sure their hair was done nicely. Mom stuff. I was worried, but he did good. Unfortunately, when he got to the studio, they informed him that the time was changed and he had missed it. Their group was scheduled for 3:30, it was changed to 12:30. Sometime between Wednesday and Saturday, their time was changed and we didn't get the message. So my girls are not in their groups dance photo. I am still angry about it. Yeah, life goes on, but come on.
Anyhoo, here are some pictures from their very first dance recital. They were both nervous, but they did pretty good. They danced to Billy Joel's Uptown Girl. Their main recital is at the Nampa Civic Center on June 13th. Friday, the 13th!!

Don'tcha just love their costumes. Don'tcha wish you could be 8 and 9 years old again?

First Dance

Last night, my oldest daughter, Sarabeth, attended her first school dance. She went with some friends and had a ton of fun. She wouldn't allow me to get out of my car at the school and snap some photos of her with her friends because she would have absolutely died of humiliation. So I can only post the picture I took before we left. I SO wanted to be a chaperone at that dance. Not to spy on her, but to partake in the fun of it all. I loved after school dances. Even though I was deathly shy about dancing with a boy, they were a lot of fun. Brings back fond memories.

Cailin

My nephew and his ex-girlfriend had a baby girl 6 years ago today. She was born with a defective heart and only lived 11 days. The only time I got to see her was to say hello and goodbye at her funeral. I've never seen anything so precious. She seemed so perfect and so peaceful. She was back home where she came from. My sister wrote about it on her blog. Please check it out here. Happy Birthday Cailin. And God bless you, Eric, for what you have endured. I love you!

I've been tagged

Photobucket
I've been tagged. I'm supposed to share 6 unimportant things about myself and then tag 6 people. Just consider yourself tagged if you read this. Please and thank you.
6 UNIMPORTANT things about me are:
1. My contacts are dry right now and are sticking to my eyeballs. Very annoying. But I'm too lazy to go take them out.
2. I went to Roaring Springs on Saturday and most of my toenail polish came off. I need to repaint them.
3. I have a dentist appointment tomorrow to finish my root canal. I am not excited about it. But my temp. crown came off a few days ago and I am thankful right now that my tooth is dead because I would be in a world of hurt if it weren't.
4. I ordered Photobucket Elements off Amazon.com. It was $74.99 and comes with a $20 rebate. What a deal! I can't wait to get it and try it out.
5. I took the sunset picture the other night. I love the green tree in front. It really stands out and is a great contrast.
6. I have gone to work at 4:45 am for the last 5 days and got maybe 3 hours of sleep each night. I am completely exhausted. But today was my Friday so I'm going to try to catch up on some ZZZZ's.

Presidential Hopeful

My 2nd grader had a mock election in her class this week. She didn't win, but here is her campaign flier. Wouldn't it be nice if we had a president like this?? Someone who actually cared about "we the people".

Young and Bee You Tea Full

I was rummaging through my old photos again and came across this one.
Photobucket
Man Oh Man, how I wish I could look like this again. Here are some random facts regarding this photo.
1. I was 17 years old
2. This was the first dance I attended with my future hubby, Flyboy. It was Homecoming 1988.
3. The theme song was Stairway To Heaven
4. This was the one and only time I ever wore a strapless anything (big deal for me)
5. What the hell is that thing in my hair?????? It's baby's breath, but What Was I Thinking?
6. I still have this dress
7. I still have the corsage too
8. If I lost 20 pounds, I would be this size again (SIGH)
9. The ring I am wearing was my mom's wedding ring from Dick (let her tell THAT story)
10. I still have that ring

Talent

My mom is writing poetry again. Check it out here. Not quite as creative as my "sneeze" poem, but still quite good. (ha ha)
