Mom and Sarabeth, DO NOT READ THIS!!!!!
O.K. I'm sitting her reading blogs and watching the Blue Collar Comedy Tour. One of the guys starts talking about edible panties and it took me back in time. Back around 1987 or so, when I was around 16 years old. My sister, Michelle, who is 9 years older than me, took me to an Intimate Pleasures party. I think that's what it was called. Anyway, one of her co-workers was having this party and Michelle thought it would be privvy to take her baby sister along with her. HOLY COW!!! What an eye opener for a 16 year old virgin. It was like a tupperware party, only without the tupperware. They passed around vibrators, dildo's, lotions, potions, and yes, the edible panties. We even got to taste them. GAG! Cherry plastic is not at all a culinary treat. To this day I have no idea why she took me to that party, but I'll tell you what. I never forgot it. It's embedded in my brain. The things that you can learn from your big sister!

Teeth, Braces, Donuts, Oh My!
Today was a day with the girls. They all had their 6 month dentist checkup this morning. I'm so proud of them all. Actually, I'm proud of myself. You see, I used to be a dental assistant. I went to Vo-Tech for a year and spent 2 years working in the field. Not much to brag about. However, one of the things that has been imbedded in my brain ever since, is that if my children ever get a cavity, it is MY fault and not theirs. They are not responsible enough to know whether or not they've brushed their teeth properly or long enough. So ever since my first child sprouted teeth, I have been absolutely adament that they do a good job at brushing. If it's not good enough, I send them back to brush again. And again and again until I feel there are no more cavity bugs left on them. Yes, it annoys them and they fight me with everything they have. But it has paid off big time. You see, my girls are ages 8, 9, and almost 13. And they have NEVER had a single solitary cavity!!!! They have perfect checkups every time. So, as a reward, I take them to get a donut!!!! Yes, I reward them with sugar. They deserve it.
Teenage Drama Queen had an orthodontist appointment today. She got her braces on in August. Things are going great. She got pink bands on top and red on bottom. For Valentines Day, which is her favorite holiday. She had black/orange for Halloween, and green/red for Christmas. She really goes for the holiday themes. She was going to get her crushes favorite colors this time, but she doesn't know what they are. She became instant friends with this boy at the start of the school year and talked and joked with him daily. Until, the fateful day that she decided that she was crushing on him. Now she is terrified to talk to him. Poor girl. I remember those days. I was just like her. Too shy for my own good. Anyway, here's a picture of her getting her new pink bands on. She hates it when I snap random pictures of her. She's all into image right now and wants to always look perfect. Oh well. Perfect doesn't exist in my book.

What Does Cristie Mean?
What Cristie Means |
You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something. You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense. You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun. You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing. You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long. You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start. You are the total package - suave, sexy, smart, and strong. You have the whole world under your spell, and you can influence almost everyone you know. You don't always resist your urges to crush the weak. Just remember, they don't have as much going for them as you do. You are a seeker. You often find yourself restless - and you have a lot of questions about life. You tend to travel often, to fairly random locations. You're most comfortable when you're far away from home. You are quite passionate and easily tempted. Your impulses sometimes get you into trouble. You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone. You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together. At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together. |

Meet David
Today I went to see my psychic friend, David Akins for my 2nd private reading with him. My first was in Sept 06. OMIGOSH! Talk about an awesome experience. I then had a Pshychic Message Circle at my home in March 07 and my friend, Donna, had a Message Circle in August 07. So this was my 4th time seeing him. Can I just say that I totally love this man! No, I am not "in love" with him. He is just a very loving, calm, reverent man. You just love being in his presence. He told me that I am going to have a great year in 2008 and that it will run a lot smoother than 2007. 2007 was not a good year for me personally. That was why I decided that my New Year's resolution was going to deal with "gratitude" instead of dwelling on the negative and having little pity parties for myself. He sort of confirmed that I was heading in the right direction. I told him I was working on it and he said that if I wasn't, he wouldn't have felt it coming from me. Way cool! He said that I would most definitely make contact with my dad who died 10 years ago. He felt very strong about that. And mom, if you're reading this, he felt that dad has been up with you in Moscow. And he talked about how you still got along after your separation. Oh! And that Grandma Beth and he were spending time together and have resolved whatever issue they needed to resolve (do you know what that means?) He asked me if I was recently offered a promotion at work that I turned down. I told him that I had applied for a promotion, but had withdrawn my application. He said that it made sense and that I would have been perfect for the job, but he sensed that I didn't want to put up with the crap that came along with it. I laughed and told him that was part of the reason I withdrew it. He talked about a lot of things and basically, I am going to have a great year. He did tell me that I needed to start meditating on a daily basis. He's told me this in past readings, but I haven't ever done it. I don't know how to meditate. I guess I need to Google it and find out. I do have a ton of stress and meditation will apparently help me in that area. Anyway, I had a very good reading and look forward to my next one. If you've never been to a psychic, I highly recommend it. Especially if you live in my town, go visit David. You will totally love this man!!!

Snow Day
Yesterday it snowed and snowed and snowed. There were wrecks everywhere around the vally. I had the day off, thank goodness!! Flyboy had to cancel some of his flights because of the lack of visibility, so he had an early day. After the kids got home from school and finished their homework, he took them outside for some fun in the snow. I stayed in and made my homemade lasagna. YUM!!! When I had a break, I ventured out and joined in on some of the fun. My pictures seem so dark, but it was still light out. I like that you can see the snow falling in the pictures.
Here's Flyboy attaching the coal eyes and mouth
Flyboy, Punky Poo, Sugar Booger and Frosty
Flyboy wanted a picture of me next to Frosty too. Even though I didn't help build him. See Bandit in front of Sugar Booger? He was waiting for her to throw another snowball for him to catch. He loves that!
We took the girls down the street to an open lot where they can slide down the hill. Here's SugarBooger with her sled full of her "snow food". She's showing you her mouth full of the snowy goodness.
Here's PunkyPoo waiting for Flyboy to pull her down the street.
Sugar Booger making a beautiful snow angel
Bandit and Tabyana absolutely LOVED frolicking in the snow. It was hard getting a picture of them. They were running rampant all over the place.
I had to join in on the snow angel fun.
Teenage Drama Queen showed up and Flyboy did a running tackle at her and took her down. He had already taken me down a few times and "white washed" me. Now he had new blood. She wasn't too happy with this chain of events. He was smiling and having fun. She wasn't.
Leave it to a Teenage Drama Queen to ruin the fun. We were having snowball fights, tackling each other, running around laughing and having a grand ol' time. Until she showed up and ruined it. I still love her, but if you can't join the fun, then go home. I did manage to throw about 20 snowballs in her face. LOL! She was being ornery and I was trying to get her to join in the fun, but it didn't work. We ended up leaving after this. The fun was over and the lasagna was done. And boy was it Yumm-O after freezing our butts off in the snow. Because of all this snow, the girls are home from school today. They closed down several school districts. The sun is out, the sky is blue and the girls are out playing in the snow with the dogs.

Punky Poo
Punky Poo is my baby.
Wasn't she cute?
Such a cute and innocent little darling
My Punky Poo. My baby.
She is 8. Notice anything peculiar?
Now do you?
The little darling. Trying to grow up so fast. I have to say that I am impressed that she got her toilet paper boobies the same size. Isn't she cute!

The Powerful Process of Gratitude
"If it is a new thought to you that gratitude brings your whole mind into closer harmony with the creative energies of the Universe, consider it well, and you will see that it is true." Wallace Wattles (1860-1911)
What can you do right now to begin to turn your life around? The very first thing is to start making a list of things to be grateful for. This shifts your energy and starts to shift your thinking. Whereas before this exercise you might be focusing on what you don't have, your complaints, and your problems, you go in a different direction when you do this exercise. You start to be grateful for all the things that you feel good about. (taken from the book The Secret)
This is my New Year's Resolution. To be more Grateful. I spend a lot of time having little "Pity Parties" for myself. And it really brings me down. And I'm tired of it. So rather that dwell on the negatives, I'm going to strive to dwell on the positives.
Be grateful for what you have now. As you begin to think about all the things in your life that you are grateful for, you will be amazed at the never-ending thoughts that come back to you or more things to be grateful for. You have to make a start, and then the law of attraction will receive those grateful thoughts and give you more just like them. You will have locked into the frequency of gratitude and all good things will be yours.
By the way, if you haven't read The Secret, or watched the DVD, DO IT NOW!!!!! It is amazing and it will change your life if you do what it says.
What am I grateful for today? I am grateful that my best friend, Shannon, told me about The Secret and made me watch the DVD with her. I am grateful that I have a friend that is willing to share this wealth of information that will help me in many aspects of my life. And I am passing it on to you.

My mother, the poet
My mom has decided not not make a New Year's resolution. You can read about it here. She has, however, posted one of her poems she wrote and is challenging everyone to bring all, or part of it, to life in the upcoming year. I am going to take her up on this challenge. I see it as a good way to start a new year.
Tomorrow
By Dorothy Mae
What in the world have you done today
To deserve a new tomorrow?
Did you offer your hand to a wounded soul
To ease his pain or sorrow?
Did you greet the day with a grateful heart
For blessings from God above,
And vow in your heart to spend the day
Giving thanks by sharing your love?
Did you say to yourself, "It matters not"
That a man's beliefs are not mine
And accept each person for who he is,
Keeping bitter judgements in line?
Did you try your hardest to do your best,
Being honest in every way,
Then reap the reward of good feelings inside
At the end of your working day?
Did you keep inside, any nagging woes
That make a spirit turn cool,
And show, instead, as God has taught,
That you live by the Golden Rule?
If you did but one of these things today,
You have no need to sorrow,
You've done enough, for any man,
To live a new tommorrow.
