Finally.....A Decision

I finally decided on my flooring. Whew! What a fiasco this has been. Now I hope that I made the right decision. And that my online purchase was secure!! It will take a week or so for the flooring to arrive. I have been boxing up stuff to take to the Youth Ranch to try to eliminate some "junk" clutter. Stuff I think I'll use again, but haven't touched in years. I'm finally willing myself to let go of it. I have to clean out my messy garage to make room to move my furniture into it. We have to tear out all the carpet and linoleum. The linoleum is going to be the worst part because we have to remove the subfloor underneath it to make it level with the floor where the carpet is. And the subfloor is either nailed or glued down. FUN!!! We are in for a huge project. I ordered enough to do my entire house. I found a good enough sale price so I figured I'd buy it while the buying is good. Here is a link for the laminate that I picked out. We are going to put porcelain tile in the kitchen/dining/laundry room and both upstairs bathrooms. When I get my furniture moved, I'll take some before pictures and post them. My carpet is absolutely hideous!!! Seriously! I don't want anyone coming into my house at the moment. It's so embarrassing. But after all is said and done, I will be wanting to show off my new pretty flooring. Wish me luck in this endeavor!!! Flyboy and I have a lot of work on our hands.

New Arrivals

Well, I miscalculated and Tabyana had her puppies today. I somehow skipped a whole month when counting. So it was a complete surprise. At 1:00 in the morning. 8 puppies. 4 look like Tabyana. 4 look like Bandit. 3 males and 5 females. Aren't they cute! Flyboy and I both had to work today so my 12 year old handled the entire thing.

Crapballs!!

I went to Nampa Floors today, with blueprints in hand, to get an estimate on that laminate that I found on sale. So the first thing the saleslady tells me is that she was mistaken and it's not the price she quoted me the other day. Crapballs!! Instead of $1.48/sf, it's actually $2.99/sf. At the lower price, I could have done my entire house! Now, I'm back to just doing two rooms. And I'm going back to my original design that I had picked out. Pooey on you, Nampa Floors! But I have to order the other one off the internet to get the lower price. It's $2.89/sf rather than $4.12 at Great Floors. Geesh! I was so excited to be able to do by entire house. It needs it so bad. I should have known it was too good to be true!! Double Crapballs!

Meet Buck

Flyboy and SBLouie went hunting today. They brought back Buck. Don't look at my messy garage. I'm working on that. It's on my to do list. Flyboy and I got Buck skinned and left him hanging. Tomorrow he will butcher him. Now we'll have some venison to put in the freezer. Yum!!

It's been almost a month since I've been on here. Geesh, I have time every day to read Pioneer Woman, but I'm finding it difficult to write about myself. But she is SO much more exciting than I am.

I am in the process of trying to pick out laminate and tile to redo my floors. What a nightmare. There are way too many choices to pick from. I've found a lot that I like, but I'm afraid that once I buy something, I'll find one I like better. UGH!! I've been looking for a couple of months. I thought I had the laminate picked out and even found it online for half the price of the flooring place I went to. But then I went to another flooring place today and found another one I like that's half the price of the one I was going to get online. So now I think I will be able to do my ENTIRE house instead of just the downstairs. Yes, I want to get rid of all of my carpet. I HATE CARPET!!! I will NEVER put carpet in a house again. It just doesn't hold up to dogs, cats, kids and husbands. So I am going to do laminate throughout my house, except for my kitchen/dining/laundry area. I want to do tile there. To break it up a bit. Anyway, that will be a huge job when we get started. We will install it ourselves. To save money. Which means that it will not get done in a timely manner. But, we will save a lot of money doing it ourselves. And the end result will be worth the time and effort. I'll try to post before and after photos.
