After leaving New Orleans, our next destination was Florida. We drove the coastline through Mississippi and Alabama. As the sun was setting, we came upon Long Beach in Mississippi that was gorgeous. I had Don pull over so we could walk on a nice, clean, white sand beach. None of the beaches in Louisiana were nice and clean. So this was a nice surprise. We only spent about 10 minutes here but I thought the sunset was pretty so I snapped a few pictures. This was the only thing we did in Mississippi.
We continued to drive until we got to Mobile, Alabama. We spent the night in a hotel and headed for Florida the next morning. So on Day 7, we left New Iberia, Louisiana, stopped in New Orleans for a few hours, then drove across Mississippi and into Alabama.
Next up: Mobile, Alabama. The USS Arizona

That looks like a really pretty beach! Was the water warm?
Chris, I am so happy you enjoyed Long Beach Harbor, Mississippi. It seems that quite a few folks are trying to, and successfully making 1st page search engine headlines by over dramatizing the BP Oil Spill effect.
I have linked your article to my blog at http://suzi-gravenstuk.com .
Thank you so much for writing and telling the truth.

By the way, Jenn--the water has been very warm, but has been cooling off since last week. Very enjoyable slightly warm almost cool water. The best thing is the the huge population of jelly fish have moved on other than some stragglers.
